Photojournalism- Robin Bowman- The American Teenager Project

The American Teenager Project

Robin Bowman is working as a freelance journalist for the last 28 years. Documenting social and political issues during that time. Earned a degree in Anthropology at Wheaton College. Started working on becoming a professional photographer on her own and not with others. Then later after studying had led her to becoming a famous photographer from the help of Maine Photographic Workshops (was the name back in the day that was later re-owned and had been named Magnum Photos). Robin has become known very well and she is pretty famous, not only is she a photographer but she writes books and makes appearance to give speeches. Robin currently lives in Brooklyn NY with her dog, Ferdinand. I like Robin's shots and work because they're so natural and the photos are those peoples daily lives and their facial expressions are really showing how their feeling. The black and white editing really showcases depth of certain things that are in the photos. These photos represent these people and kind of tell a story by the way that you're looking at the picture. This is considered as photojournalism because of the story the picture tells as you look at it, this type of photojournalism is different than other because there's so much meaning that makes it so different and unusual than some other photojournalism's pictures.
